HELP!! Facia adapter fitting

Hi,

I have two fiat bravo adapter plates for fitting a standard shape headunit. One is a cheapy halfords item, and the other an genuine fiat item. What i have found is the halfords item has a small lip around the aperture approx 3mm wide which prevents the unit slipping straight through (this is a good thing!). The fiat item does not have this and when i test fitted the headunit in the adapter it slid straight the way through. Why is this?
what else do i need to make it fit the fiat one?

Any help would be appreciated,

There should be a small lip on the fiat one, On the cage your radio sits in there will be a small lip on that to stop it going to far also there will be little catches that you push down with a screwdriver to hold the HU in place and also prevent it being stolen

Sy, thats the problem there isnt **** on the fiat one to stop it going straight through!! I've measured them and the halfords one as an aperture of 183mmx54mm whereas the fiat one is 190mmx63mm!!! God knows why!!! Bought the item (fiat) off of ebay, and remember someone else had one on here and managed to get it to fit as unfortunately a week later his headunit and other ice was stolen as well as the adapter smashed.

The fiat item is the one at the front of pics. As you can see no lip to stop HU sliding through!

Looks like i wont be fitting it this weekend!!

very strange how ever once it is in place i doubt it would slide through as the heater is there behind it and a lot of people have trouble getting the HU all the way in!
Best suggestion, just play about with it
