I have punto mk2a and when i drive everything is ok, but when the car is in neutral gear i can feel the engine shaking randomly... not much but enough so everyone in the car asks me what is that shaking :p
I put 4 new this and changed the cables too and cleaned the air intake parts (new filter and stuff) and its still shaking. When i add a little gas when in neutral the shaking stops but that is not a permanent solution :(
Please help :(

Hello mate :)

Mine does this too, changed everything but still does it :(

Weird thing is though, sometimes if i've stopped the car for whatever reason and them gone to re-start it it starts and runs perfectly with no wobble from the motor :bang:

Engine is normally vibrating, everything looks OK when I'm looking at the engine and when I hold my hand on some part of it. I'm only feeling the strange shaking when inside the car. :(

It could well be a worn engine mount. Check the one visable on the engine to see if the rubber has deteriorated and the one under the car attached to the gearbox first. If not then the last oe under the battery tray

Try cleaning the throttle butterfly (I am not sure this is the term for it in english sorry) the butterfly valve just at the entrance of engine. Mine was also shaking in neutral (especially when the airconditioner is on) cleaning it can solve the problem.

Mine has just started doing this. Checked the visible engine Mount and it was fine? Little worried as it has come from nowhere?

mine did this also was a misfire on tickover gave it a good blast down motor way an seemed to have cured it for now that was 3 week since so im guessing was probably some crap in the intectors

Italian tuning does no harm providing the engine and transmission are fully warm, and it safe and legal to do so.

When its idling lumpily, remove and refit each plug lead in turn (use insulated pliers unless you like break dancing) take note of which plugs make no difference when removed.

Cheers

D
