Help!
1998 Marea Weekend 1.6 Automatic:
Thought I needed to remove center console to get at mirror switches, so I removed all hold-down screws, and, took the auto shifter knob off and tried to raise the console. (Wouldn't clear the parking brake lever anyway...) I moved the shifter stem while knob was off, and, I had lifted the center console and moved it front-back a bit. After re-attaching the knob with the allen screw, I am able to shift into P, R, N, D, 3 but NOT 2nd or 1st; i.e. it won't pull back past 3rd. Also there is now a 'springy' noise when I move the gear shift selector. Did I screw up majorly? Or is there an easy fix? (Hope so... ) THANKS!
Jeff
