General Hello I am new!

Hello I am new to Panda's and this forum. I want to buy a fiat panda but i am not sure wether I should get a 1988 manual 4x4 or normal 1991 automatic, I will need the fiat for everyday driving and for hunting twice a week. I would love to get a manual but i am just worried about driving in city especially on road hills I don't want to bump into someone behind me when i am in trafic. Also I was planing to buy a fiat for 1500 euros, is it ok? Thank you for answering my questions!

1500 euros will not buy a very good 4x4 - in the UK that will buy one that needs much work. It may be better for you to look at getting a nice CLX or CLXie with your budget. It will serve you very well.
Parts are near impossible to find for the Selecta automatic transmission.

Welcome to the forum! I would always choose manual but each to their own preference

I would consider a selecta only if you can find parts..
A 4x4 in good nick will cost you more than 1.5k
I like the clx or the 750 fire!!!

Selectas are great if you get a good one
I'd always prefere a manual though if I'm honest. Try holding it on the handbrake until you get the biting point and then you shouldn't roll back at all, but if your not a confident driver than maybe the selecta will be the way to go for you. You should find one within your budget too

Thank you guys for helping me! Ya I will try to find a fiat panda 4x4 for more then 1500 euros but since i live in france they are cheaper but i will look for more. Will Fiat panda automatic have enough power to go through some mudy hills and roads? And What is common top speed for pandas? are they safe to drive on highways or should i stick with country side roads?

They are perfectly safe to drive on highways in my opinion, they are more than capable of the speed limit in our country (70 Miles Per Hour) so that should be more than enough I would imagine? The Automatic (selecta) has a 1.1 engine rather than the normal 1 litre top end that the other models got.

Well my 2wd Fizz went up steeper - but that was manual.

With the right tyres and technique (don't plough through the deep water!) no problem!

I would engage low gear first - though why would you risk a rarer selecta?

I think you would be better with a 4x4 for doing stuff like that regularly

It will if driven sensibly, just need to not hammer it and bottom out, just like any 2WD Panda tbh.
