General Hello! From the BBC :)

The guy's not very knowledgable, I don't get how they found him?! He's nothing to do with FF. We could have had a much better spokesperson - they could have given a lot better than they got. i.e NCAP result, he quoted 0 stars, well try every 80s car! Taking the **** out of him for a £1 panda "shouldn't be allowed on the road". "you have a horn in your car?!" "your average panda couldn't get out of lansing"

They mentioned "fiat forum" once and he said "i've looked at it yesterday but I am not a member".

lol Dave, I am not sure on what grounds!

It wasn't even funny - the presenter wasn't much of a comedian and anybody with an gram of wit would have shut him up!

Lora, they didn't make FF look stupid, just pandas really, he just said to the first guy "you're from the Fiat Forum are you then?" "yes, well I looked there yesterday, I am not a member" and then FF wasn't again mentioned.

Pity we didn't have one of our more learned and witty members to point the point accross of Pandas.

Wow, that pisses me off! The people that called in seemed pretty dumb, too. They didn't stand up for themselves and instead they went along with the mocking. It was a mockery that's all there is too it... a mockery. I hope that BBC lady comes back in here so that I can tell her how ashamed of herself she should be. ARRGH... Then those bastards that were laughing at their reliability should strap into the passenger seat while I take them off-road. And again... ARRGH!! Phew, I feel better now.

I suppose it gives a good indication of why Fiat/Lancia/Alfa are gradually going out of business. People would rather drive round in kidney shaped Nissans and 'pretend sport' MG rovers. Or basically utilitarian BMWs, Volvos, Fords and the like. They all look the same since they all roll off common production lines. Or the 'new' mini, which lacks the soul of the old one. Has anyone else noticed how small drivers look in the New mini - it's proportions are out.

What makes me laugh is that popular cars today were rejected Lancia/Fiat designs from the 90's. Take the new Audi's, with grill reminiscent of the Dedra. Take a sander to front end of an Integrale and youv'e got the 4 light front end of a jag, mg etc. The boxy panda has been adopted by Kia. No doubt the Fiat Coupe, Bravo, Stilo will be the inspiration for the next round of popular cars.

Paul, you're definitely turning into a seasoned journalist:
never let the facts get in the way of a good story..

/ tongue in cheek mode off

The Range Rover was designed by Spencer king before 1970, as it was in production by then.

By my reckoning it precedes the Panda by at least 10 years.

I've written it, therefore it's the truth! ;)
