A big hello from me, My names Tristan I've recently bought myself a little L plate Mk1 Punto S 55 3 Door with just 36,312 on the clock, I've never had a small car with a really tiny engine before but I'm actually really pleased with it!.
I have already replaced the cam box gasket & spark plugs, next on the list engine oil & filter change and cam belt + tensioner.
Now this is the thing, despite it being quite nippy I'm used to cars with a little more go, while I don't want to make in to a 0-60 in 6 seconds rocket it might be nice if it accelerated with a tad more enthusiasm, having read through the various topics on extracting more power the general consensus seems that the best thing to do is to fit the slightly larger 1.2 engine?, I'd prefer to stick with what I have and just try & pep it up a bit, I've noted that fitting the 40mm throttle body / injection unit seems to be a step forward, can anyone clarify exactly what model/variant this is from for me and also any other sensible suggestions to helping me with my cause.
I've been in the motor trade all my life so have no issues with nuts n bolts etc, not shy of pulling things apart and making modifications
Many Thanks
Tristan
