Just went to inspect them today, and soon to be owner of two (not just one, but TWO) project car FIATs. One is a 1973 Sport Spider 1600 manual transmission (pre-smog... yay!), and the other is a 1980 (from what I'm told) Spider 2000 automatic transmission (is there a market for those?) with a removable hard top. I will be getting both of them for the tidy sum of 200,000 shiny US pennies (okay, in common terminology $2,000). They are both in fairly rough, non-driving condition, but it looks like most of the parts are there for both of them. Once they are delivered and I ask the spiders to vacate the premises, I can start tearing into them. I'll probably be lurking here most of the time, but might pipe in once in a while with a question or two. I've had a Japanese project car before (Datsun 240Z), but these will be my first Italian cars, project or otherwise (and no, neither of them is painted blue).

Hi and welcome :)

They pre.date me.. bit others on here will know enough to help you along the way

Were these cars 'your era' ?

My earliest 'Italian' was 1981 and 900cc
I was 10 years old when the red one was made, and about 17 when the white one was made, so they are close to my era I suppose. My first car was actually a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. I miss that one, and wish I'd never sold it... but who keeps their first car for 40 years, right?
