Doblo Hello from a newbie

Hi all. Just joined and looking for some advice.
Just got a Doblo 1.9 5 seater on a 53 plate. The rear doors are split with the small door (right hand one) closes and locks ok. Left one (locking door) does not open on the handle from the outside it does from the inside.
I have removed the trim and looked at the back of the lock and the catch that should operate the bars to open the door does not contact the plastic latch that operates the bars.
Could this be a central locking failure where the lock is being kept locked by the central locking mechanism not working or has the actual release mechanism (plastic part that the operates the bars) broken.

Would appreciate any help offered.

Thanks for the one reply. I managed to find out what the problem was and fixed it with a few spays of WD40.

The problem was due to plunger (where the two springs are located) being stuck and there for the handle was permanently locked. Once I freed this the door locks and unlocks with central locking now on every door.
