hi there all,
so far thanks all for a great forum, as a non-oily-handed sort of chap i have found the site extremely useful and have used the excellent guides to try the clean of my MAF sensor but unfortunately to no avail.
on unplugging the MAF the car runs like a dream but reconnecting it post clean effort has had no effect, infact, it's made it worse. before the clean the sensor didn't kick in until it was warm (3 miles or so) whereas now it doesn't kick in full stop - people on the motorway are making interesting gestures at me as i go up hills. i was very careful with it but perhaps i've now damaged it beyond repair.
soooooo, my first question is if i just disconnect it and run without it (i do about 200 miles a week) what's the worst that can happen?
and secondly, seeing as i'm a bit dim i didn't make a note of the exact model number of the MAF before putting it all back together (although it was definitely a bosch) - could someone confirm that:
for a 2000 (W plate) Fiat Punto 1.9ELX JTD Hatchback (not van) i need the following OEM part: 0281002309. i was a bit confused about how to tell the BHP etc. perhaps a link for the best price bosch?
many thanks all :worship:
