Yeah I'll check it all after as I've got to go out now I'll empty all the coolant then take the thermostat out as I say the top of the 2 pipes coming out of the thermostat and water pump are then they are cold 1 half way down the other a quarter as they go in to the radiator well thanks guys for all the help it's much appreciated and I'll try everything and keep you updated later on after tea thanks :)))
 
hi all just an update i drained all my coolant out it was rusty colour again and also some black bits anyway ive took the thermostat off and im 99.9% sure thats the problem as it seem like it was jammed shut and covered in that rusty colour stuff it had a layer round the edges in and everthing i boiled the kettle and poured that through and it didnt open so im guessing thats the problem???
 
yeah this is the 3rd time im drained the coolant out not put new in yet till i get a new thermostat or tried it at least in the pan but the times ive drained the coolant ive put new in
 
the blue anti-freeze/coolant the 50/50 mix and do i put the rad liquid in the expersion tank and let it run round??? dont know how to do that never had to do it before lol

You fill the system through the expansion tank.

What did you do the other two times you refilled it?
 
is that blue anti-freeze/coolant thats a 50/50 mix alright??
 
i was on about anti-freeze/coolant never used the radiator stuff but will get some and on the thermostat when i put it in the pan to boil do i have to take the nut out with the electric pin thing off it?? i mean to connect the wires the connector bit?
 
thats what i ment just didnt know it would be safe or work without it on cheers
