Technical heater motor problems grande punto 2006

Heater broke down several times and changed the rheostat OK for a short while but is not working again but does when not in situ? I reckon the motor is faulty?

Any ideas lads or lasses?

Vehicle is a Grande Punto 1.2 2006 model.

I had one that the motor had gone but slowed down first been parked under a tree full of leaves burned it out common fault resistor or fan gos normally because drain plug blocked

You can take motor out quite easy 3 screws up behind the glove box
But check if you have a pollen filter as if not this will let leaves and things into it.
Again easy to find and fit on glove box side of heater
