In my earlier thread I explained how I found my 2008 Ducato heater fan had failed. I fitted a new one and it works (on every speed) but no air is coming out of the vents (in any position). I checked the pollen filter - in fact removed it. No change.

This must be something simple surely? Any ideas?

SOLVED (SORT OF!): Yes it was simple. The new fan turns in a different direction!

The new fan looks the same, has the same electrical connector (handed) and the SAME PART NUMBER but (on closer inspection) the actual fan blade bit has a direction arrow opposite to the original fit!

Now I could just change the wires around but first I have asked the auto shop where I bought it to investigate.

Hi,I have the same problem with a 2007 SWB 3tonne. Ducato. The original fan was seized so the dealer got me a new fan which whizzes round but no air comes out of the vents. Driving along air trickles through so I know the air distribution selector works. I will cut the wire and switch it over tomorrow and hopefully that will fix the issue!

Well that has worked! Perhaps not as powerful as it would be running the correct way but at least I can demise the windows and circulate heat now!
