On a classic Panda 0.9, the heater valve is just on the heater hoses entering the firewall, under the dash on the engine side. It’s a small brass or plastic valve controlled by the cable from the heater knob. Access isn’t huge but you don’t need to strip the dash.
Symptoms of a stuck valve: either no hot air at all, or always full heat. Replacement is straightforward. Clamp off hoses, swap the valve, reconnect and top up coolant.

Here’s a quick tip you can use to check if the valve is stuck without removing it:
With the engine warm, turn the heater knob from cold to hot.
Watch the hoses going into the firewall: one of them should get noticeably warmer when the knob is turned to hot.
If both hoses stay the same temperature, or the “hot” hose never warms up, the valve is likely stuck closed.
If the hoses stay hot all the time, it may be stuck open (not your case, I believe).
Basically, the valve simply opens or closes the flow of hot coolant to the heater core, so hose temperature is the easiest check before dismantling anything.
This saves time and confirms very simply whether you actually need a new valve.

Thanks for that. Just to clarify, under the bonnet looking at windscreen, valve is tucked away to left of plastic blower housing right by battery? I'll start pulling apart!
Cheers

Yes, roughly in that area. Looking from under the bonnet toward the windscreen, the heater valve is on the heater hose going into the bulkhead, usually just to the left of the blower housing near the battery. It sits right where the hose passes through the firewall and is operated by the cable from the heater control inside the car.
Before pulling too much apart, it’s worth checking if the control cable is actually moving the lever on the valve when you turn the heater knob. Sometimes the valve is fine and the cable has simply come loose.

Thanks. I got distracted anyway so will have a go tomorrow.
Cheers
