General Headrests awkward/uncomfortable- yours, too?

I just got my new Fiat Pop. Wahoo! I've been driving it around and noticing that it seems like my head, against the headrest, is pushed a bit forward. It's uncomfortable. I'd love it if I could move the headrest back an inch, but to do that, I need to tilt the seat back more, which kind of defeats the purpose. Has anyone experienced the same thing, and if so, how did you deal with it?

I cannot say that I lean my head against the headrest in any of my cars ... I don't know if the 500 is adjustable but sometimes you can push them back.

There is no 'fore & aft' adjustment in the headrest but I would suggest adjusting the angle of the seat and adjusting the height of the head restraint. It takes a bit of time to get your position right in the 500 and some perseverance is needed.

When I had my 500, my head never touched the head 'restraint'.

The name 'headrest' is a bit of a misnomer

Mostly,they are actually there for safety regs -to protect your head and neck from whiplash etc. during rapid deceleration. Unfortunately there are few cars where the headrest actually supports the head during normal driving. I believe my old Audi estate did as it could be adjusted fora'ds and backw'ds a lot.

It is always nice of course, when they do support the head whilst driving!!

They are head restraints and they shouldn't touch the head under normal drviing. As has been mentioned, they are there to prevent serious whiplash and broken necks. On some cars they spring forward on rear impact to prevent the head tipping too far backwards, and this is not a bad idea.

If you need head restraints to support your head though you have a problem Perhaps an orthopaedic collar would be better

I ended up pulling mine out and turning it around. It no longer bothers me. Yay! Now to figure out how to deal with the driver's side blind spot...

That doesn't sound like a safe solution. Is there no other way of resolving the problem ?
In reference to the blind spot is that when you're reversing or driving ?
