Just had the experience of loosing one of the covers, searched the site and it seems to be a common problem. I ordered new ones, came as a pair for €16. got paint from Halfords €17 and a friend sprayed them for free. I deceided to try and tie them on so avoiding the same scenario in the future. Drilled small holes in the covers and the other bits then two holes behing the washer nozzles, then threaded fishing line through and knotted it, Having tested it it works fine and returns to the proper position without any obstruction. photo attached in which you can just see the line and the knot where the two ends join. hope this helps someone.
