Odd Italian issue of the day, when I have my headlights on (dipped) all is working fine, when I switch to mainbeam the nearside headlight goes completely out leaving only the sidelight on, the offside headlight switches to main beam perfectly fine.

I've checked the bulb, both filaments look fine, are they individually fused?

Change the passenger and driver bulbs around and see if the problem is still there. That will confirm whether the bulb is at fault, and then go from there.

Assuming the bulbs are ok (swap them over as Cameron suggested), wiggling the wires might be worth a go. Next step is check the fuses are all in properly - sounds odd (coz it is), but my 127 had exactly the same issue last mot & by reseating the fuse it sorted it out - still don't understand how it could cause that symptom (why would it work both on dipped & one on main if it wasn't in properly??!! ), but it did!

Bulbs, wiggle, fuses, then I'm out of "technical" advice!! ;)
