Head Unit Help

Just got an all in one DVD player with screen, according to the chap at Halfords it needs to be wired into the earth on the hand brake for the monitor to work...stupid safety feature to prevent you driving with the screen on. He did tell me it can be bypassed...so question is does the fiat wiring loom for the headunit have an earth, if so what colour is it?

The handbrake is bolted to the floor so would be earthed whether the handbrake was on or off. This means the screen would be on anyway.

You sure he didn't mean it need a supply power from the handbrake switch??

I would suggest just hook it up to a constant 12+ live, thats all the handbrake switch will be doing. Prob just be indication when the light comes on when you pull the handbrake on. Its just a switch that supplies a voltage. Check on the switch with a volt tester.
