Ive put a new head unit in my bravo which all works fine apart from

1) the clock on the stereo resets whenever the ignition is turned off

2) the head unit can not be turned on without the engine on

Is there any simple soloution to these problems

thanx

Yip.

The wires for permanent live and ignition live need to be swapped. Usually they are red and yellow coming out of your head unit. Switch them the other way around :)

Yeah, very simple!

Swap the red and yellow wire over at the back of you headunit...they should be bullets conections so its very straight forward!

Not turning on without the ignition on is an intentional design feature.

hi,

have had a look and don't have a yellow wire. Looked on the audio guide and am I right in thinking I should swop the red and orange wires, Also these bullet connections do they just pull out?. Finally with referance to your comment tom does this mean I will not be able to turn on regardless of what I do with the wires.

The original Fiat units have switching inside them (I think) that enables you to have the radio on with the ignition off. After-market head units do not have this feature, so when the ignition goes off the HU will turn off, although there is still power there cos the clock still works !

If you look at your head-unit, you will have 3 main wires...

Power
ACC
Earth

The Earth wire should be black, so just swap the other 2 over...
