Head unit actually gone crazy!

I've had this JVC KD-G701 MP3 player (didn't buy it from halfrauds incidentally):

for a little over a year now and lately it has been going crazy. Some buttons dont work at all when you press them and some do the functions of other buttons.

Also sometimes it spits out the CD loaded and when you take it out and try and put in another it doesn't take it. This is usually fixed by disconnecting it but the previous problems remain.

Really appreciate any help cos I'm strapped for cash at the mo and cant really afford to replace it.

the front is detachable yeah?

if it is, then you need to get some meths, or any kind of alcoholic cleaner and clean the contacts both on the HU and the detachable front...

i've seen this problem before and this solution has worked!

hope this is the problem and it helps, if not then it sounds like your HU is ****ed (technical term!)
