Just bought another Multi (54 facelift) and getting to know its character!! It had a problem with fast flashing on the nearside indicators but it passed it's MOT. Today, 1 week later, the nearside indicators stayed on even after I'd switched the car off. The dashboard indicator light stayed on too. After much mucking around the fuse for the hazard switch (No14) eventually blew. I replaced and it blew again suggesting a short. Indicators etc on both sides work fine if I don't replace the fuse. Reading other posts, there seems to be a common issue here.

I think it's the hazard switch but I'd really like suggestions before I start pulling the dashboard apart.....

Much as we love them, they don't half try the old patience sometimes.

Any help greatly appreciated.

recheck correct bulbs fitted for indicators first if alright then i wonder if fiat do 2 relays for left and right indicators, the reason i mention this as opel have same problem and the relay goes funny like a quicker flash rate.not done many fiats so abit unsure if hazard unit at fault usually they dont flash and pressing the hazard switch in and out may work again.(y)

Thanks for that. All the bulbs are correct and working. As far as I can make out, there's only one relay under the steering wheel. The problem seems to happens when the fuse is replaced for the hazard switch. It then blows again.

Any ideas? Can you buy the hazard switch on it's own and is it relatively easy to fit?
