Technical Gearbox rattle

Having taken on replacing the slave cylinder as well as master cylinder seals I’ve discovered a loud rattling with any movement of the gearstick.

It’s a light metallic rattle, sounds like bells on santas slay.

Checked gear linkage, with the battery tray off and moving the selectors on the box by hand the rattle is still present

As a rough guide, if light pressure on the clutch pedal affects the noise then possible clutch release mechanism or clutch bearing.
However if noise only goes away when clutch completely disengages and worse on a cold/slow running engine, then it can be laygear bearings etc. in gearbox, which is obviously much more expensive.
Hopefully it is just something external you disturbed when changing the clutch slave cylinder.

unfortunately not external or as a result of the slave cylinder.

Was making the noise prior unfortunately, and is also while manually moving the selectors by hand on top of the box.

Clutch peddle pressed in isn’t having an effect.

How much would your gearbox be?

I assumed the noise was with engine running until I listened to your recording.
Obviously if you get the noise with engine off but moving selectors then it would point to an external issue. Possibly gear linkage etc.
Maybe a recording of the noise whilst driving would help me or others on the Forum to advise.
I do not have a gearbox and am unable to advise on cost. There is a Forum member @Fortunes Gate who offered gearbox reconditioning on the smaller models, pehaps he could guide you re that, although I assume you would have to send/take the gearbox to him. As these vehicles get older some gearbox parts are harder to obtain.
You will need to confirm the gearbox is actually the problem.

Sounds completely normal gear selection noise to me and I have a 1.9 jtd multipla. Maybe noise is different in real life than video

Certainly doesn't sound excessive, try a little grease or thick oil around the linkage to see if it makes it any quieter.
