hey guys,
did a quick search on the posts but couldnt scramble an answer

basically my sub was working fine for bout i dunno near a year in the old cinq but now the stereo recognises it and also there is a yellow power light comes on

but no thumping sounds or bass from it? is it dead? i mean i dont think its the fuse because like i mentioned the yellow power light comes on

also any ideas wat ''prot'' on a sub means? (its sum other red light)

Also if you are worried that you might have blown or overloaded the sub - take it out of the box and smell it. You'll soon know if its burned out by the burning smell......!

yeah it definatly sounds like you have over loaded the amp on sterio. are you useing a seperate amp for sub????

hi my mistake for the confusion the prot light never came on

basicaly the sub i use is one that is connect via rcas because it is one of those with a built in amp .

i'm confused the sub doesnt smell like burning either

hmmmm  thanks though

If the lights are on - Cheak the RCA's - To reset most amps you just need to disconnect the Remote switch wire for a few secs, then reconect it ... Try that first (y)

the proper way to test if a sub is blown is to....

turn it off.. place fingers evenly across the cone... and push the cone gently back and fourth...

if its blown.... you will feel resistance

if its a good un' it will move free and easy

be gentle dont push it to far.. just a little for the purpose of the test
