LOL, you mean how many times? Let's take last year, for example...
I grinned around as I secured both my locks and seals from freezing, while others were standing by their cars on parking lots....
Next thing I knew, I was on the gas station with almost no fuel at all, and my small lock on petrol tank cap was deep freezed... Lesson: don't forget your small locks :D

I find the cheap products totally sufficient, that stick (like deodorant :)) based on wax does miracles on seals, and for locks I prefer that small bottle with pointy tip (it fits lock like a key, so you push it in a lock and squeeze some out), don't know what kind of liquid is in there, but it works perfectly :D

Ha! I would have forgotten the petrol cap lock as well!

I had to kneel there blowing in my Uno`s door lock the other night ( didnt have a lighter on me to heat the key!), the key finally worked, but then I nearly ripped the seal out opening the door!

A deodorant stick on the seal is an interesting idea, I`ll have to try that! (y)

I couldnt get the key in the boot either! & none of my key hole `flaps` are damaged, it must be the condensation freezes in them?

I wouldnt use WD on either Louie, 1, because the WD would end up on the key which in turn would transfer into your pockets, 2, I dont want WD overspray everywhere on the car & 3. WD rots rubber long term & I dont want knackered door seals! (thats the same reason I dont use de-icer on my cars, it rots the rubber seals).

I like the deoderant stick idea on the seals, I will be trying it.. I think I`ve got some 80`s ones in the loft, I`ll try "Insignia" first, then Brut! :D

hahahahahahahhaahahah :)
Cool, idea, but actually I made a deodorant reference just to explain what product am I using for seals :). It's actually designed for seals and rubber, but reminds me of a deodorant.

But, come to think of it, old stick deo may work just fine! Would be nice to try it on tailgate or passanger door if you're traveling alone in the morning...
Awaiting results!

Btw, WD40 will work just fine for locks, and if you use it's small red tube to spray it directly in the lock, you'll get best results, plus minimize grease on the key.

We come across many car and domestic locks that have failed/seized due to people using WD40 on them. It leaves a residue simular to Treacle.
I would advise using GT50, a brilliant product which is silicon/teflon based.
KY is good on your rubbers.:)

Sounds good.

Ha, I would expect that to dry out, and don't leave the tube in the garage, would make people wonder.

How about silicone spray on the doorseals - works for me, though the frost/icing is pretty mild here. I did manage to have a frozen lock once when I washed the car in the evening and it froze overnight.

haha, yeah, just after the snow went down here, it got properly cold overnight, took me ten mins to for my other half to get in the passenger side. Didnt realise straight away, i have remote central locking in mine. My door unlocked and i got in, and she was standing there pulling on the door, and it hadnt even unlocked. it wa so cold that my screen wash didnt even get a chance to run down the window before it froze!
