Hi everyone, I'm back again with my little problem child.
The steel coolant return pipe on my Uno is stuck. I've already procured a replacement, but I'm having trouble getting the old pipe out. The previous owner seems to have sealed off some corrosion damage with a J-B weld type substance, that I managed to get off, however between the existing corrosion and my rather brutish (probably idiotic) way of removing it, there's a gaping hole at the top of the pipe. It seems there's another sizeable corrosion hole at the bottom, and some at the back. If I try to wiggle the pipe to get it loose, it seems to just flex around whatever remains are holding the main body to the bit that connects to the water pump.
I've been thinking of taking the water pump off and trying to knock it out from that side, but I'm not 100% sure it will actually be accessible if I take out the water pump. I'm also a bit worried that the pipe might have rusted in there, I can't get it to budge an inch!
I've tried spraying in some penetrating oil, but it doesn't seem to have helped. I also can't get anything in between the pipe and the surface it mates to.
If anyone has any tips, it would be greatly appreciated. I'll attach a photograph of what I'm working with.
