Re: Harj - Mk2 Sprint Blue Sporting

did anyone ever find out the pcd of the gps wheels? and i like the car of course:)

okay I deffo can't read! I took off my wheels yesterday and they are stamped 6.5jxET46.

I took my car to a garage yesterday to change tyres/balancing etc...so I got the guy to check if there was any difference in space of the holes on the alloy and the stud pattern on the car....and there wasn't....

All I can say is that the alloys on my car are deffo 98pcd......I even asked Fiat and they just look at me like  .....dumb a$$es.....:bang:

No wonder you don't see many mk2/b puntos with these alloys...cuz ppl think they dont fit!

oh well...more unique look to my car until someone else does the same!

new Fiats are 4x100 so would that not mean you have them fitted with wobbly bolts!:idea:

Dude, If I fitted these with wobbly bolts this chapter would have closed by now! I hope I did now!!:bang:

I deffo got normal bolts on my car (28mm) due to 5mm spacers. There is no play.

Now ppl say that they have put on 100pcd alloys on their GP, well maybe they have been supplied with wobbly bolts. Same goes with aftermarket alloys for the mk2/b.

I have original fiat GP alloys, with standard mk2 bolts and they fit. No vibration at any speed, not sticking out....not nothing.....

The alloys on my car are also GP alloys and not Bravo alloys. Yes, bravo has a 98pcd, but maybe at somepoint in the the production line the GP had a 98PCD platform until they used the same as a Corsa.

The thing is that we can all come out with assumptions, but the fact is that I have these wheels on my car with standard bolts state one thing, GP is 98PCD or was 98PCD at a point in its life.

the PCD isnt the problem really and the length is irrelivant. Presuming you are running your standard bolts from your original wheels? Its the centre bore thats off. MK2's are 58.1mm and the GP is 56.6 so theoretically the wheel wont be sitting on the hub properly :)

Yes you are right regarding the centre bore, but it wont be off if the PCD is correct. If the PCD is correct, the wheel is sitting in the middle of the hub. If the PCD is off then yes, the wheel would not be sitting on the hub properly, thus causing vibrations at high speeds.

I don't have any issues at any speed. Nice smooth ride unless I hit a freaking pot hole!

To resolve the centre bore issue, all I need to do is bore out the alloys. But as there is no issue in drivability, its an avenue I cannot be asked to take.

I have swapped the original bolts (23mm) with longer bolts (28mm) thanks to Richie.Guy!............

I dont know much about this discussion about PCD and fitment but what they hey, they look awesome on your car, very rare (as you can tell by the reaction its causing lol)

Cheers dude (y)....I wish I hadn't started the convo regarding the wheels now!:bang:

But at least ppl will recongise my car when they see it!

New to the Forum here so hello to all.

Not trying to cause any issues here but I have worked on all of Harjs cars (Just about) so know most of the in's and outs of most of his car.

The alloys do not have any wobbly bolts on them and are the same fitment ie 4x98 pcd. We fitted the 5mm spacers and they went on fine apart from needing the longer bolts.

I would say if anyone thinks that they are the wrong PCD, Shouldnt Fit, Ride
is comprimised, then ask Harj nicely and take the car for a ride.

People are always experimenting with different alloys from other cars or other parts to see what it will be like on their motors and as an experiment the GP alloys were fitted to Harjs car and we pulled it off with a little tweeking they now fit fine.

A few early GPs were 4x98 so i believe that but what about the centre bore. The GP is 56.6 and the mk2's are 58.1. They surely cant be on the hub properly when the centre bore is smaller than a mk2.

With the 5mm spacer on it the centre hub goes from being 10mm to 5mm. With this done the wheel fits on the hub fine with no issues.

5mm spacers are fine as are 8mm spacers as there is still enough of the hub left to sit on as such. Only when you go 10mm or more do you need to start thinking about hubcentric spacers :)
