Hi folks, what modifications can be done (besides lowering) to improve the handling of a HGT?

Reason I ask is I took a corner a bit too aggressively and the back end came sliding out like a drift car. Scared the living daylights out of me! Good thing it was late and there was no traffic.

better tyres. lowering the car may not improve it. u can get a set of coilovers which are stiffer and can leave ur car the same height, that will drasticly improve it.

also a set of polyurythane suspension bushes

depending on how worn ur suspension strut bushes are, they can improve it aswell.

and also a good set of brakes.

oh, to stop ur back end coming round, make the rear end of the car a bit higher than the front, that will level it more when going into corners.

strut braces could help and anti roll bar upgrades

One of them is a new tyre lol and I didn't mean to do it, I think the road was a bit greasy cause it had been raining earlier in the evening. Was pretty fun though lol

that could be a reason for it. ur tyres need to be in sets, if all 4 of ur tyres are different then ur handling is guna be pants, and if all the threads are different then its guna be pants aswell. and if one of ur tyres are new and the rest are old and worn then one tyre is guna grip the rest are guna slip.

get urself to fleetwood, accross the road from foulds metal works, there is a guy called andy that does second hand tyres, he got me a set of kumho tyres 17" for 80quid fitted. atleast they will all be the same thread.

Tbh the hgt is a twitchy car on the edge anyway so only mod worth doing is better tyres, stiffer suspension on british roads will just make car handle like a dog, i only sorted mine as i intended to use it on track where stiffer suspension would give an advantage.

i have a strut brace wich did make some difference along with other mods.
