handbrake

i,ve stripped the calipers today and re greased blead and cleaned and its still doing it. the handbrake wont reaslise i park on the drive and when i get in to reverse off the hand brake is stuck on if i drive around it comes free after a while but the smell of burning brakes is bad. any idears please?

Take the callipers off and push the pistons out with no pads under them - but NOT too much.

Clean the piston surface under the rubber seam and rotate the pistons in again.

It sounds like the pistons are sticking a bit.

thanks but i,ve done all that, i think its frozen hand brake have you heard of that before i,ve been reading some other archive posts

If its frozen, you would have loose or frozen cables. If the cables move on the calliper they are not frozen.
