Technical Handbrake cable to short?

I have replaced my rear trailing arms and brakes.
Now I fitted a new handbrak cable but it seems it is to short?

I placed it in the original clips and all the metal parts are in the right spot.

When I take the handbrake mechanism thread It's to short to get to the handbrake cable.

I can't pull the handbrakcable itself any further as it will block the wheels.

Is it possible the handbrake mechanism cabls hangs somewere in the bucket it is placed in?
Havent taken it of yet.

IIRC theres 2 types on the cinq
early and then the later type as fitted to the sei

O sorry forgot about that.
It's a Seicento with drum brakes.

that looks like the right one.....

have you taken it around the tank ect ect ect, and have you put it the correct way over the rear arms?

I put it back the same way as it was.
All inside the clips etcetera...
