What are you currently driving for? I've got bored with speed ( not helped by the huge number of speed cameras and police traps en route ).

So currently its fuel economy balanced with speed. I've started watching the average consumption meter like a hawk. By taking my foot off the pedal a few millimeters it seems to make a big difference:

Over a 640 mile trip up and down hill on motorways stopping only to fill up:

---------------------------70MPH------------80MPH--------------90MPH--------------
Panda 1.2 (approx) 48mpg (approx) 46mpg (approx) 41mpg
Marea 1.6 (*) (approx) 47mpg (approx) 48mpg (approx) 45mpg
Spyder 1.8 (approx) 39mpg (**)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Range seems to be such a load of poo, never seems to be computed correctly.

(*) - no fuel economy meter worked out at the pumps with a calculator and specifically spending period between fillups at a reasonably constant speed. Its an auto.

(**) - Just after a tuneup, exactly 231 miles, and the book sayes shouldn't get more than 27mpg out of it - but I have removed a lot of excess c**p. Don't drive the car any faster than 70mph for fear of costing myself a lot of money through repair bills if something goes wrong ( again ).

Figures and other tales of top speeds of your cars? Is the FIAT handbook a load of doggy-doo when it comes to stats? It seems to underestimate the Marea and be about right on the Panda.
