I have just bought and installed a CD fascia from Halfords for my Brava. It is a pile of ****. I had to hacksaw various knobly bits off it just to get it in the hole and it still doesn't fit properly. It fits - but not exactly!! I like things to be exact in my Brava. Also now that I've done it, I think I prefer the look of the original FIAT stereo in any case. I am just warning you in case you buy this from Halfords.

What do people think - is the original stereo better looking than an aftermarket one?

Yeah I reckon the original one is better looking (looks good flushed into the dash), but it's certainly not better sounding than my new Alpine headunit!

Re: Re: Halfords CD Fascias

why not keep the original one in the dash and put a better one in the glove box or summit?

get one with steering wheel control and you'd be sorted!

Re: Re: Re: Halfords CD Fascias

in the near future i will be selling some decent fascias imported from italy.

I have already supplied over 30 of these fascias to people on the board and they have all been really happy with them. They look 100 times better than the halfords ones, and they fit properly too.

if you want me to notify you when i get them in stock email [email protected] and i will get back to you.

Jonathan mate, is the 100x better an exact measurement or just an estimate? :p

Re: Re: Re: Re: Halfords CD Fascias

Hi,

Yes, please let me know when you get some. I have just seen a picture of them on another message and they look a lot better than the one I just bought.

Cheers

Re: let me know also!

i bought the same thing from halfords and its shite, it doesnt fit properly either so i might sand off all the knoblely bits n glue it in, lol

I have just removed the crappy Halfords CD Fascia again (and my JVC head-unit) and re-installed the original FIAT stereo. The FIAT stereo may not sound so good but it looks better and I am a lot happier. I will save up and try to get the Grundig CD changer - I think that is the best option...

Re: Re: Halfords CD Fascias

Radio supports (with and without doors) are available from espeedup.com
www.espeedup.com

They are about 10 euros (17 with false door)

As there is a minimum order of 50 euros you will have to buy something else as well, but its an extensive calatogue!
