Technical Gutted - First massive B fail

Hi Bumble

Had it for 3 years and have parked on occasion on London Road so there is certainly a possibilty.

Mr G!!!!

I'm afraid that the I may have to disappoint you and everyone else but I ordered a 500 Abarth this afternoon so the B is 90% certain to go. If you fancy a laugh, just out of interest I asked about a trade in price at the dealer. £1,100 today and £700 in twelve weeks time.

There is a vague chance I may be able to get cheap/free storage but it's more likely it will be up for sale in the coming week.

Sorry guys:(

Is that quoted with the broken driveshaft?

Hey Afro

I got the driveshaft fixed. I couldn't let the wee fellow go without have a few more blasts ;)

Bumble, that's an interesting suggestion with the dealer. Do you know of anyone who could offer something like that? I've never sold a car before and it is a bit daunting. Saying that, there isn't many Bs on autotrader or ebay at the moment and all of them are a good bit above what I would be looking for.

Massive thanks for the offer of storage as well. This really is a fantastic community we have here and you're a fantastic example of this.

One of the biggest factors is that it is near impossible to find a camera insurer that will insure my camera gear whilst stowed in a soft top.....and my cam gear is worth far more than the car. Sad but true. On the few times I've used the B for camera jobs I'm always in fear of leaving the gear even for a few minutes in the car as the cam gear is my livelihood.

Goes without saying, if anyone knows of someone who is in the market for a B I'd be grateful if they got in touch. I want want wee blue to have a good life and be well cared for. The car is running great and only the bodywork needs attention.

You could try http://aitken-walkercars.co.uk/ (ask for Graham) He has sold two cars for me. You just need to agree a bottom price and he gets a fee or keeps what he makes on top. If there are any used car dealers near you who sell things ' a bit different', they might be worth asking. They cant lose as they will tell buyers its a 'customers car' and wont have a warranty. I think Stevietee is a dealer. Be interested to hear his opinion.

Oh Jon!!!:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: You can't sell it!:cry::cry::cry:

Okay then, tell me about your Abarth...colour...trim...etc!:cry::cry:

Hope you get way more for the car than you have been offered it is certainly worth more!

Hi Steve

Sorry mate:eek:

The Abarth is going to be an all black affair without the Abarth stripe. It looks properly evil :slayer:

Bit disappointed with the choice in wheels so I'm sticking with the stock 16". If there was a great 17" I would probably have paid the extra but have a feeling the ride quality may have suffered slightly.

Only extra is the black leather with red stitching although the black paint comes in at 375 so I suppose is technically an extra.

My father in law and his brother have loads of experience selling unusual cars so we're working on something at the moment. The going price seems to be around 3.5k for my age of car judging by autotrader. Would have to get some of the bodywork sorted out to get that kind of price though. I'd be delighted with 2.5 to be honest as that's what I paid for it. It's only real service history is the three years I've had it.

Sounds Nice(y) When I went down to Wales in April to meet up with some of the Abarth 'bhoys' there was a really nice white one with lovely alloys...I think a pic is on my site....owner was Jones or Taffy or something:D Hope your plan regarding the 'b' works out but you'll rarely have a clean car now. You will always be welcome on any Barchetta-Scotland events and I'll let you know if the Abarth 'bhoys' are coming out to play again:slayer:

Hi Steve

Just had a look at the pics just now. Those alloys are very nice. Look like the 17" ones you can add as an option. I personally preferred the ride on the standard 16" so stuck with those. Bit of shame there aren't any choices when it comes to the 16" as I would have liked some proper multi-spoke ones like I have on the B.

Would love to tag along on any events(y)
