General Gutted - Any ideas how to repair

Whilst rushing around this morning I accidently reveresd my car into a wall. The damage is very minor.

The long black plastic trim on the rear bumper is scuffed for about 300mm from the one end.

Does anyone know if this can be repaired easily by purchasing some kind of kit.

I can get a part for £36 delivered from shop4parts but I saw a repair kit in Halfords today and wondered if it can be done.

Could I buy some plastic bumper repair filler to fill the scuffs then spray out with a satin black to match the rest of the black trim?? what do you think?

Has anyone ever attempted this atall?

£36 doesn't seem so bad and at least will look the part. Painting will probably not last with sunlight washing etc.
