Who are you? :D

Long time no post, how's life treating you?
Fine thanks.
Right chaps, this is from a hard twice experience!!
The 16v engine seems to wreck the bottom end and inlet cam due to a piece of the oil way corner, that has not been machined properly. The corner bit breaks off, and blocks or part blocks the oilway on number one [which also feeds the cam]. The bearing heats up and then 'grabs'. causing the conrod usually to bend, and knackering the crank. Because of the nitrate treatment of the crank, you cannot have the crank ground. So this requires a new bottom end and usually a cam.
First signs of problems, are usually a tick from the top of the engine. This is due to a worn cam lobe [from oil blockage]. But sometimes, its not number one, but can be another oilway blockage, and no inherent warning noises!!
Yet some engines, just run and run. Deffernetly a hit and miss on these future classic cars. Later 16v engines seem a lot better.
I am so glad you lot are keeping these great cars going. Love to have another one at sometime. Love to see a line-up of Tipo 16V's at one of the shows. Cannot make Brooklands, due to being on holiday.

Andy.:)
