Are you running a chip or any extra power on your 20vt chrisuk?

Great read this thread is by the way, some real intresting stuff.

Are there any commen falts with the g-tech chip?

My evocars chip on my old run lumpy on cold idle put other people ha dno issues, also I was told it gives irreguler boost but I never had that problem with that.

no such problems with my 20vt tho, runs great on idle strong boost till high in rev range and very smooth too.

Yes I think mines has a GTEC1 chip (for normal fuel), Sparco front strut brace, lowered suspension, Forge re-circ dump valve and Powerflow cat back exhaust is still in one piece lol with no blowing.

I haven't had it on the rollers yet but judging how fast mine is compared to what others I test drove it has to be running about 30-50bhp more than standard!

The trouble i have is I dont know what a standard 20vt feels like so i wouldnt mind going up against one[on privite land of course]

One thing for a chip to give a standard car extra 30-40 bhp like I have sen a few times before but seeing how much of a diffrence performance wise is quite another.

I seen a scooby wagon wrx sti get blown away by a coupe with just a chip and blue flame eshast. rolling start from second and the coupe won and won by a good distance too.

Its the connector on the ecu i believe bud as apparently OBD1 cant be altered or so they say.

All I know is that i was told I couldnt map my 16vt thats why i got a evocars chip, but you can a 20vt?

donny lad I wonder if you can advise me?

Just started a thread about a hks re-cerv dump valve, going off topic abit so you might wana reply on my new thread. i want to buy a hks re-circ off my mate who had it on asti type r scooby over 300 bhp. He said get advise before buying just in case.

Should be ok and fit on my 20vt chipped but apart from that standard?

Can you please advise?

I cant see a problem bud unless it has the bolt on piece that some scooby BOV's have

let us know how you get on anyways bud.

I need to check something in my ecu, i havnt got the red or blue key.

If I dis connect the battery will i be able to start my car after or will it come up with the dreaded code warning light?

You need to get a Flea map! Here's my RR after he remapped My coupé in July:

Only mods were a Decat, Cobra sport exhaust and a Blitz air filter. Everything else, including turbo, standard. It really did transform my car. It's more economical now off boost  and a lot more perky on it :p Plus it's tailored for your car so you know it's not running lean or rich. :p The standard chip is removed and replaced with your own car's map, it's not done through the diagnostic port (or at least, the map isn't sent to the ECU through it) I can only praise Flea, he knows the coupé inside out and definately the best at remaps for the Fiat coupé in the Uk (and maybe the world) :worship:

Ill let you into a little secret about the increased maf housing guys, rover 220sdi Maf housing, direct fit for the maf to go in lol found it out by accident at a mates when messing with an intake system on my old hgt. can be had for £10 from any scrap yard.

Yea iv done it with my 16vt and never needed the red key. I had it tho so it didnt matter, havnt got a red key with my 20vt tho. I wondering if I will need the red key becase im disconecting the ecu more so than the battery?

Might risk it and hope lady luck is on my side.

When you open the ecu which bloock[if you know what I mean] is the chip?
