I need to no what suporting mods I need to have a gt28rsr turbo on a standard 20vt engine?
If anyone could advise that would be great.
Thanks

totally agree with the above although a cone filter is not needed,
although i run a straight induction pipe and cone.
Also you will need the fuel pump wiring direct to battery.
or an uprated pump.
Forgot about that one.Out of curiosity what does the wiring mod do? boost fuel pressure?
That is what I am doing mate.Yeah standard coupé ownership is expensive enough....Although mines been partially modified when I bought it. Need to get it on rolling road to confirm how much lol.
Think I'm going to get a car cover and put mine to bed for the winter until I can spend some proper time/money on it :chin:
Front mount intercooloer
Good exhaust (I use a turbo back blue flame with race cat)
Good plugs (iridiums ?)
uprated air filter (K&N cone ?)
Electronic boost controller
You will also need the ECU to be remapped for correct fueling and getting the most out of the new turbo.
I would also upgrade the brakes and maybe give the suspension an overhaul too as well as fitting good tryes (T1R's ?)
As i thought, them mods are on my list anywway.
I have a g-tech 1 chip at the moment, would i have to put the old one back on instead for the remap?[cuz i havnt got it-bought the car completly standard apart from the chip and that how it come]
As for them car covers iv had three.
One keept blowing off, the 2nd was putting scratches on my car as i take it off and put it on. The third one i got was soft and had straps on the bottem so it didnt blow off in the night.after less than 3 months the weather made it disintergrate, it turned like to tissue paper and then into dust. I was shocked after just three months.
To be honist i would only have a car cover if i wasnt using my car for a peroid of time, taking the cover on and off will scrath in places.
Can anyone please advise on my above post:slayer:
When you get your car mapped, they map a blank chip and give you your existing chip back to you.Ok but if i was to get a remap and just stage 1 mods before I change the turbo would I get my car remaped with the g-tech chip or would i need the original chip that came standard on the ecu?
Or doesnt it matter?
Sorry for the confusion I wasnt clear enough.
Nice turbs, the RSR. Best of both worlds! These roller bearing turbo's were all the rage a couple of years back on Fccuk, when the Pound was strong against the dollar and you could get one with all the bits for £600. It's more Hybrids now, being straight bolt-ons, and not least the fact we can see 340+ BHP out of the hybrids now with good mapping Roller bearing is undoubtedly the superior turbo, but for me at least, it's hybrid all the way!
