It's only liable if its not true. Glad you realised the difference between slander and liable now though cristian
Ok I shall tell the story truthfully this time.
Cal got a quote for around £500 to fit a performance head for this car - Bargin right.
I was quoted a price, bargain or rip off the price was peters choice.
Well Peter is an engineer and not a mechanic, to save Cal money rather than using Clovertech to do mechanical work that is normally done he would kill two birds with one stone, save cal money and give his friend some work, this friend ended up doing half a job and when peter found out he told him where to go, I know this because I was there when they argued. Cal knows this and Cal also knows how Peter has tried to help ever since.
You mean peter went behind the back of a very good business friend of his and done the job seperatley, taking one of his mechanics to do it? Good start. He has not tried to help ever since, I spoke to him several times in which he just rambled and did not once offer any real suggestions on the problems. All he did was totaly dismiss your suggestion of leads/coil pack with a 'no chance'
Peter completed the job, albet abit slow because he was finishing something he didnt start himself, cal came down to sort it out as well as it is in his best interests.
Can you justify me having to work on my own car, 7 weeks into a 2 week job?
Now peter knew his service was bad in this instance and did what I think was MORE than fair to solve issues, so immediatly dropped the price so fitting was free (he only paid for parts supplied)
So you are justifying the weeks of lying? There is no justification for that. The price dropped by £50 can you explain how that equates to all the labour? Although it would back up the comment you made 'why do you think I use peter, he rips himself off so I don't have to spend much, he then offered a free bespoke remap supplied by Chippeduk that he paid for. Amazing right, happy days yes? No...
No, the remap done nothing, chipped uk lied about power, peter was speechless and my car was the same speed as before.
Cals car was not burning fuel properly, it was making power but only in very high revs indicating an ignition fault, my advice to cal was to replace the coil pack, it was 60,000miles old and never replaced... After much complaining of having to replace a consumable part he did so expecting 20bhp more all of a sudden, and didnt get it.
Lets clear things up a bit here. You first insisted it was the HT leads, so I spent money on them for you to dismiss them. Then you insisted for months it was absolutley the coil pack at fault, this was my only problem. It done nothing and you made a laughing stock of yourself on the forums because you were wrong and just denied you were putting it at absolute fault. As for the wanting 20bhp instantly lets clarify - it was supposed to have gained 20bhp from all the work carried out. I didn't just make that figure up
I am not an expert on Cals car, nor am I an expert in any particular field of motoring (just an enthusiast like everyone else) however if an ECU mapping expert tells me my ECU's knackard and it isnt holding the remap in the eprom I wouldn't ignore that advice and say everything anyone has done is ****.
Ok then, what about when he said 'Ok, I've fixed it it will deffinatley hold the remap now. To be honest cristian even you dismissed his reasoning on the second visit as bull****.
So to recap.
Cals car has a problem, not to do with parts supplied, normally a company would supply and fit the part and thats it, Colombo and Barrini make cams and alot of people rate them, yet they themselves make no estimates on power as they also know their part doesnt make the power its all parts and all parts must be working.
But GSR is different, they fitted the parts, I maybe wrong but his induction kit was free (going off something cal said), they dropped the original price, they supplied a free remap (normally £250) and cal has been 3 times to Chippeduk for a remap 3 times.
Don't paint him out to be a saint, it was his choice to fit it, not a favour. I was given a remap for free, which done nothing? So I got nothing for nothing? Bargain. Actually I only went twice, but that is 1000 miles wasted for nothing, no closer nothing gained, not a thing.
They couldn't work out the problem at first but the professionals have blamed the ecu, (not an expensive part on the second hand market these days) but he ignores this FREE advice and turns down the offer of Chippeduk to strip and rebuild the engine costing thousands from a company other than GSR to try and solve the problem.
No-one appart from you and then andy has blamed the ecu, chipped uk who had it on there desk twice certainly did not say it was at fault. And they are the experts right
. Why would I let chippeduk take my car for 2 weeks? He has lied to me twice now about power readings then covered it up with excuses he didn't state at the time. Some of which even you said were dodgy. I'm not dropping my car off someone I don't trust for two weeks and not having a car myself. Also thousands to take an engine apart and put it back together with the same parts? get a grip
Cal I am afriad is a young boy who doesn't understand cars as well as he should, you know the type that ask "What would you actually need to run a low boost turbo on a 1.6 engine?" Jan this year.
Come on..."
And I am afraid you are are a rather large boy who also doesn't understand cars aswell as you may thing. You bully people and talk ****e, then throw in some technical talk to confuse them and look good. Peter couldn't tell people quick enough how little you actually knew.
As for asking about what I would need to run the turbo, why not? I have an engine I could do it on with the offer of a free exhaust manifold, turbo and down pipe. Its a car modifying comunity, whats wrong with wanting to learn?
