It's a year 2000, 4-door mk2 Punto.
Looking around at scrapers to find a front-bumper, bonnet and a left wing.
Acording to my bonets colourcoding-plate, it's Grigio Orione VR.HWB, code 675.

BUT, after having compared it to two other fiats - even took the bonnet of and placed on my car to see if I was just being an idiot - something is different.
Not a lot, but enough to be so different it was a very obvious difference in tone and colour.
My Grigio Orione is a lighter colour and a little less blue.

No the car has never been repainted !
No, its not sun-fading, as the car drives i Denmark and there is no difference in doorsils, and inside bootlid.

Has anyone else had that problem ?
Has FIAT for some reason changed the tone of the colour, after my car was produced ?

If I end up only able to get the colour to fit, using af proff-painter, it's gonna be ridiculously expensive.

No problems at all with the paint on your car or on the panels, the simple fact is that over the years fiat do indeed change the colour, it can depend on the chemicals used to make the paint or the supplier they buy the paint from, it can be a very minor difference in the mix.

Silvers and greys are notoriously difficult to get an exact match, and what can look like an exact match can be very obviously different under different light or from a different angle.

The only way to ensure a good match is to have a professional match then mix the paint, they have books from multitudes of different manufacturers which will give them the different mixtures for each year and sometimes even different months of the year, to get the best possible match

ive looked on google images and grigio orione comes to my eyes as the dark grey in the punto colour,im sure whenever ive painted this grey the colour code was 301 though
a word of warning this colour is harder to match than the base silver as it often comes out with a green tint when panels are placed together
if i was you i would fit your panels and get a painter to blend into the doors halfway so its a seamless colour match, this is what i did with all fiat colours as they were the biggest nightmare i ever had and i tried ever make of paint available including the original as quoted on the sticky under the bonnet

goodas luckas anyway:)

Thanks for the answer Andy, but having it done by a professional does not make any sense, regarding the actual value of the car.

It's frustrating !

I fear that my little Punto is gonna end up, having to look lite **** paintwise, in the frontend, for the next many years :-(

Does anyone with insider knowledge from FIAT know, if there are anything "strange" with the Grigio Orione, or if FIAT actually at a point did change the color ?

Mine is a year 2000, and the ones I've been looking at, was year 2002.

At the moment I'm parking next to any "Grigio metal color" car, to find a close match :)
My Alfa's "Grigio Africa" is also a little darker...

Wish I could find a store with a lot of spraycans, and then having my fuel-lid in my pocket, could find a close match.

I cant understand, why my Grigio Orione is the only one different ???

I know this is an old thread, but I also have 675 car (Stilo). Every single panel is slightly different on this piece of Italian mirracle. I have found that color is 99% same as Skoda (VW) 9900 or 9901, depending on which panel it is. Can of that paint is 5€ here, so it is a good alternative for cheap car.
I hope this will help somebody.
