My name is Hörður Sigurjón Karlsson.

Through the years i have thought about how nice it would be to have a motorhome for traveling around Iceland.
But somehow other things had to be prioritized and so and so.
I am a mechanic, working in a truck workshop and one day a former college of mine came to us and asked us to have a look at his motorhome and see what had to be done to get it running again. It had been sitting for three years and he just wanted to sell it.
At this time i was not looking into motorhomes at all but this man called me and told me he had something for me that i needed to have and he needed to let go.
We talked for awhile about old times and this and that and how he wanted me to have his motorhome. In the end he made me an offer.
I thought about it for a few days and now i am the owner.

Hi, I too own a 1.9td reg.1996. I got it 16 years ago and (having sold my car) have run it everyday since. These old Fiats do not like standing around and quickly develop faults. I hope you get lots of pleasure from yours and any problems can be posted on the forum. Most likely some of us will have experienced the same. Watch out for rust! All the Very Best. Ian

Yes this will be a lot of fun. I have been soaking up info about these cars and i am working on it in my off time. It was in a rather sad state when i got it, busted turbine, bonnet badly smashed up and a broken headlight, one front strut stuck and both leaking, stearing bearings,, yup you guessed it, rusted solid. Stearing rack clonking and ratteling.
We are past all that now. New turbine, new struts and bearings, new headlight and the bonnet kind of okay. Stearing rack adjusted and wheels alligned. We had our first roadtrip last weekend, it was slow but steady with only one roadside oops.. it blew the intake hose off the manifold Great, the new turbine is doing a good job Well, that was quickly sorted out and no further issues.

Next on the todo list is the timing belt and related stuff, crank and cam oil seals, injectors and so on..

Hi again, Just curious as to where you are finding spare parts as some things are quite rare in England.

There is a auto parts dealer here in Iceland " stilling.is " They resorced the struts "KYB" and the bearings. I just got a reply from them about a timing belt kit (a bit pricy) but they can have it for me. Express delivery 7 to 10 days standard 3 to 4 weeks.
I am also waiting for a reply regarding front springs from " coastalmotorhomes.co.uk " they seem to have this and that as the timing belt kit.
So far i have found what i have needed. The turbo and headlight i do not know since the previous owner already bought those items.
I may run into trouble eventually but so far so good.

ebay maybe an idea aswell. Dont know yet.
