General Great knob removal

Hi, my gear knob is getting a little knackered looking, is there any way to remove it to replace with a 3rd party generic one ? The reverse selector ring doesn't seem to be directly related to the knob, but thinking might get in the way of me removing the knob if I need to grip the stick ?

Decided to dig around with a screwdriver. Seems similar to the 500 where the cap of the knob can be levered out revealing a little bolt.

It does pop straight off with a bit of a wiggle there is 3 plastic clips so go steady, and you are right there is a small nut underneath

Yeah. Just trying this one as I don't have a replacement yet. Then again... Perhaps I'll stick with this
