I've just changed from 01 punto to grande punto active 06/07.
How do I remove old built in stereo/CD player and fit a standard Sony CD player?

They'll be 4 small holes around the stereo, one in each corner. You need radio removal keys (see ebay). You dont have to use the keys, you just need something small and long enough to fit in the holes. I've used nails in the past but a lot of people like to use coat hanger wire.

Insert as far as you can and quite hard and the headunit should be able to be pulled out or gently tempted out

You will also need a fascia for the new headunit to sit in. Halfords might have this in stock or again ebay is a safe bet. Just search for grande punto stereo fascia ;)

There's an in-between stage that james has missed:
1.) Remove standard headunit using removal keys/bent wire/nails
2.) Remove existing cage - you'll require torx screwdriver for this (can't remember what size)
3.) Install fascia adaptor, then new cage, headunit and cabling etc.

Hope that helps.

Thanks! Forgot about the cage. Doh!

In my old cars I was able to use the existing cage so I forgot :p
