GP differential "exploding"

Has anyone had a similar problem to this?

Ive got an '07 Grande Punto and after doing a 50 mile motorway journey, I pull in and top up the fuel (yes the correct type) then when I pull away it sounded like a small dog had got caught up in the engine. Apparently the "differential has actually exploded" according top the mechanics. I mean seriously, a 5 month old car!!! Anyone else heard of this???

Is it a 1.2 ?..I was tiold the the gearboxes arnt up to much and have heard of the previous model having gear box explosions as well .. welcome to the forum
