Hey, im gonna pop up Halfords tonight to get some Autoglym Bumper care, to get rid of the t-cut on my plastic bumpers.
So i might as well give the whole car a clean.

I just need some decent products. Iv heard that my car has a layer of clear-coat on it so is there any point in using polish or wax?

Thanks jake. (y)

I always forget about Boyes lol

Might just pop down tomorrow lol

(I've been saying since I got the car "I really should do a proper job!!" and well, haven't lol)

I can't see passed Auto Glym products. The shampoo always leaves the body work looking shiny and clean. And the polish leaves the best finish i have seen and as someone else said the extra gloss protection stuff is the best for that extra deep shine!

Anything will beat the generic 10 year old "Wash 'n' Wax" stuff in the shed

Most modern paints will have clear coat on them, as it protects the actual paint layer from getting scratched or damaged. A polish will remove defects such as light scratches and fine swirls in the clearcoat. A wax will simply protect the clearcoat from UV, salt etc. damage. Waxes will barely add anything to the looks at all.

It should always go in this order;
Wash - Shampoo
Deep clean - Clay & Tar Remover
Removing hazing, scratches - Polish
Protecting - Wax

agree 100% with Puntomark2b, before i clicked on this post i had already answered the question, Autoglym is by far awesome.

i keep the Sei awesomely clean every week.

My Regime:
New nanoparticle Shampoo from Turtle wax OR Bodyshampoo from Autoglym

Shammy down to dry.
Assuming already T-Cutted apply Ultra Deep Shine

After buffed off, Super Resin Polish

Windows: Car Glass Polish..Autoglym.
Wheels: Wonderwheels
Tyres: Tyre Dressing...Autoglym

Then Gloss Protection with the cream/gold sticker leave for 30 mins then buff off :)

ALWAYS gets an awesome shine :)

SRP will remove UDS

UDS on top of SRP wont bond...

SRP and Extra gloss protection

or UDS on its own

Meguiars #16 Mirror Glaze Professional Paste Wax, about £11.50 delivered from performancemotorcare. Highly recommended, cheap, huge tin, excellent long lasting finish, very easy and quick to apply and microfibre off.

I am a bit of a sad arse when it comes to cleaning and polishing my rides, i aquired some meguiars from my son , its my birthday and its so much better than auto glym, seriously its the business maybe thats why its more expensive.

well if you like it i ain't going to argue

One thing i will say though like any range of products some are better than others I dislike the Meguires 3 stage wax it only lasts a couple of weeks...

this is what i use to leave my car with a perfect deep glossy shine.

i actually spray some bug and tar remover first (cheap astonish stuff £1.99 from wilco :D) and leave it a bit.

while im waiting i do the wheels with auto glym alloy wheel cleaner or carplan wonder wheels kit.

then i rinse with water, and wash with auto glym shampoo twice and rinse.

after washing i recommend you use a clay bar kit i use the Meguiar's kit.

then auto glym super resin polish, followed by collinite 915 wax the best wax by far if you ask me. cost a fair bit but it will last yonks(y)

but i do take ages washing my car probably 4-5hours each time lmao
