i'm from your end mate. at the far end of Gt Western Road from city centre.. cant suggest a cheap mechanic really. I use my local guy, who's good enough, and his prices are quite fair but i'm guessing if your timing belt has snapped, your engine is mashed, and thats quite a way to gt a busted car. you are looking at quite a few bob to get that fixed unfortunately...
What engine, year etc is it?
All i can say is that i cant recommend the fiat garage at Springburn, and the alison street arnold clark on the south side, well, they charge £50 an hour labour, so i'd give ANY arnold clark a miss tbh.

Pollokshaws road at the shawlands/pollokshields end. Coming back from the city centre via pollokshaws road you come to the eglintoll end with the bus stop on the right and the TSC saw centre on the left, the garage is beind the TSC saw centre in their car park, changed they're name recently so cant remember what they're called. IF you've been that area you know just up the road from that point there's a large kwik fit at the traffic lights with a car accesories shop beofre it called bargain auto spares. When going to the garage ask for Bashir and tell him Babar Malik sent you, he'll laugh and slag you off for having a fiat brava/o but will do the job cheap for you. If i remember right he charged me £100 ish for min on a 1.4 12v and the same for my cousins 1.6 16v. I always have the car serviced every year by fiat arnold clark for the basic service only. The fault/report sheet they give i always take to Bashir and get him to do what really needs done. used him for four/five years now so recommend him.

cheers mate was that a 100 quid just to change the belt??? mine has already snapped while running so ill need tha car picked up any chance you have the numebr ???????

cheers mate know what u mean about arnold clarke had a major fight in the allison st one ginger headed fanny of a manager that he is lol anyway ill try find that garage and see what they can do for me cheers again

Dont know if he does pickups but no harm in asking i suppose. 0141 422 1551. I think that the number for the shop, if so ask them for the garage number.
If the timing belts already snapped i would assume other damage has already been done if the engine was running with the belt snapped even for a short time?
Maybe somebody else can add to this point?

indeed, if its snapped while driving, you should have known about it pretty quickly. good chance that all the internal parts of the engine are fecked.
now you need to try and source a complete engine unit from a JTD and put that in

its the new common rail diesel engine. its so good that fiat have been selling it to vauxhall and some others i cant think of!
the 1.9jtd gives 50mpg, but can give 150bhp!
just the upgrade you always wanted.
alternatively you could buy a brand new, still in the box 1.4 engine from nige, for about 600notes
