Hello again
Well seems like half of the lights behind my instruments panel have died...so I wan to change them (to blue perhaps :) ) and I have also a white dial panel for my car...Now... is it easy to go behind the instruments and change the bulbs/panel? Any diagrams etc? :)

Not got a clue, I'd assume its not that hard.

I can get LED bulbs to fit most applications, must check which ones are needed for the fiat dash. Blue, white, red, green, amber, purple, aqua... you name it.

Re: Re: Getting behind the instruments...

Hey Tom I would appreciate it if you could find out which LEDs are used in the MK1 Marea...then I can just order them in blue :) As for the Haynes, wel is not so easy to get a hold of them around here ...

Re: Re: Re: Getting behind the instruments...

I'll check the haynes manual.

re

its not hard to get behind, undo the few screws you cac see, 3 on top, two at bottom behind steering wheel, and ther eis one that goes up into heater vent that you can get to by taking off the fuse cover but. then pulls out.

than dials are another 4 screws then just pull the whole set out,

iu have tried takigthem apart any more than that!

Re: re

Thanks Allan
seems easy enough...lets see now if Tom can find me out what diodes i need for the new blue light hehe :)

Re: Re: re

let us know how you get on changing to blue! i would like to do it but never got round to trying. i assumed that the green light would be created by a green plastic light filter but let us know if it works!

Re: Re: Re: re

I will...but as far as I know the light is a colored LED...you can see some projects in www.dioder.dk and is also in english :)

er

just got home and checked my haynemanual,

look like it says is little bayonet stly bulbs? not led's

Re: er

Hmmm
I must be able to swithc them with one of those from that website...does it say anything about voltage requirements?? if its 3v or 12v or ???

Re: Re: er

That place is expensive! :)

I can get stuff about HALF their prices.

Re: Re: Re: er

Tom you have to understand that is expensive in Denmark :) But what else can I do?? hehe
Just find out for me what type i need :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: er

I never said I was getting them from the UK either :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: er

 Well find the info and then share the secret with me :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: er

i wouldent mind knowing as well i have always wanted red lights on the dash. what about the control in the centre of dash, do you change them in a similar way ?

and what about the little digital readout of the milage etc will that stay green ? i would assume so

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: er

dsidn't realise thats how they were put together! Could be worth a look one weekend!

the green lights from on the dash are from small green bits of plastic not the bulbs, but i suppose you could pull them out and put blue plastic in, or just pull the plastic out completely and change the colour of the bulbs.

Re: Re: Getting behind the instruments...

that's how i thought it would be :-/

maybe have a go when i have a spare weekend!

Re: Re: Re: Getting behind the instruments...

Anyone with the Haynes can tell me please if the bulbs in the instruments panel are 1.2 watts or 3 watts or ??? Really appreciated!
