Hey everyone, I have a 1976 124 spider that was rewired with a GM harness. I've had to switch out my turn signal and cannot figure out the wiring. The part did not come with instructions. Any ideas which wire goes where? I've tried a few combinations. I do know the brown and red/brown belong to the push button on the end. There are two black/red wires, one yellow, one white, one black, one white/black, one green/black, and one blue black. Any help would be very helpful. Thanks everyone.

Do you have an ohm / multimeter?

Basically you need to do a trial and error test with the meter.

Put the switch in the neutral position. Now start with one black wire and test all the others. You may find that all the blacks and connected. This simplifies matters.

After that choose one wire and see what other wires it connects to in each of the switch positions. Tedious !

Also look at the original electrical drawings for the car so you can see how the original lights and relays were wired. This will give you basic clues.

Do you know what the switch was originally made for as most manufacturers use a generic colour code, I'm used to working with Lucas stuff so know that Green/Red would be Left indicator and Green/White would be Right indicator. So if you google various makes you may find colours that tie into the switch, left, right, dip, main etc.
