Technical  Valve clearance question

Yeah, the usual suspects all list the various sized Fiat shims singly at reasonable cost c.$3-$4 each.

Also, bear in mind that having fitted new valves and lapped them into their seats, that things may settle down with some use and some of the valves may need re-adjusting  (or not :) ) - so I wouldn't try to get ultra-precise with the initial settings.
Yessir - I’m aiming for just slightly tighter - still within spec though. I’m sure it’ll be fine. (wild raucous laughter).

So said the Lancia sales people!! :ROFLMAO:

Would you buy a Lancia if the equivalent Fiat engine produced more power??

:giggle:
I had several Mk2 Beta Coupes as a youth, they were superb cars and very well spec’d (4 wheel discs, struts, 5 speed gearbox, etc. Also very cheap as the majority of car buyers seemed to think the were rust buckets. The Mk2 had wheel arch liners, seam sealer, underbody sealer etc

My memories of the engines in these great cars was what triggered me to junk the parts controlling emissions and crippling performance on my Spider, which now features Lancia parts in the engine!

Also to note Lancia Twincams typically produce more power and torque than the Fiat equivalent

Wow, thats pretty comprehensive! Thanks for posting it, really interesting. A massive variety of specs from similar basic components.
It would be interesting to see which carbs were fitted to each engine, there seems to be a similar massive variety of twin choke downdraft Webers
Carbs fitted to European models :-

I have a spare engine with this casting number which doesnt seem to be on the list, any ideas?
Afaik, the casting number just refers to the raw casting and doesn't indicate what was subsequently done e.g. c.r. of pistons fitted, cams/carb fitted, power output or its intended market.
I prefer to go by the engine number so it appears your cyl. block, engine no. 131 C4 000 is a 1995cc, developing 113 bhp @ 5600 rpm that was likely used in the Super Mirafiori from 1982 - 1985 ( but not in the 131 Mirafiori Sport of '77 - '82 which developed 115 bhp @ 5800 rpm).

Thats brilliant, where do you get this info from?
I also have 2 34 ADF carbs, but they are not identical either!
