I didn't realise the 1.1 panda mk3 engine came from the seicento, you learn something new (or remember something you'd forgot when you get to Verns age) every day :p

Where did the 1.2 come from then? Has anyone fitted one to a mk2 panda? I really like the 1.2, better in the panda mk3 than the 500 imo. :)
didn't really 'come from' the Seicento. It's basically the same 1108 engine that's run from the Uno and even Tipo with a carb in the late 80's right through, including the Panda selecta & late euro 4x4s. Switched fron single to multi point injection halfway through the Seicentos production run which is what went into the mk3 Panda. Easy swap for the SPi version. Same as the 999 all bar a slightly bigger clutch plate.

Damon fitted a 1.2 16v to his panda. Went like a rocket too! If the engine in mine ever died, I'd consider getting a 1.2 8v block instead of the 1.1.

Yeah surely the 1.1 has little extra power over a 999cc Panda block? Being the fact that those 1.1's have 54hp, the Panda can't have MUCH less than that.

Eh?
Who said that?
Where am I?

What's my name again? :confused::confused::confused:

I can't stop lusting over a Bianca, obviously they're super rare but if I were to travel anywhere (in the UK) to get a Panda, it'd be for a Bianca, unfortunately there appears to be 6 left.... and one of those is SORN. Excellent :(

And another one is Kevs. You've got more chance of getting the sorn one on the road. :p

I sold another bianca to a lady who lives local....if you look at panda camp 2009 there are pics...had a great engine and new sills, new interior and mohair twin sunnys!, etc etc.

Not sure she would sell it back as she loves pandas, but she doesn't clean them..(n)...although I found out last week that she plans on getting a full respray..(y)

Panda sport has one..so that's 3 accounted for...

HUGE DILEMMA!
Dying inside.

1. Sell my GP, Buy, insure and maintain a Panda for next two years with the proceeds from the GP. (Worth about ~£3250) - Would mean my only car is a Panda and is subject to cover daily use and frequent motorway use.

2. Sell the GP, same as above but use some of the money to buy another Fiat for taking some of the load from motorway driving etc (was looking at late 90's Bravo's (or Brava's) - Can still have Panda, less money left over to do any maintenance but then again won't be used as often.

3. Keep the GP, don't bother getting a Panda till sometime in the summer when I can afford a good one - Lack of Panda ownership gets me down, still wouldn't have much money for maintenance but again the GP would cover motorway journeys etc.

HALP!

See the black one that just came on eBay in london...very nice and doors seem ok...

Having said that the blue one for sale on the forum is the right price.. Matchbox, the guy selling it, is a good chap...(y)

Already watching the black one, good pricing but finding a Panda is not my issue, I've already been 'offered' one, lets leave it at that. It's whether to go ahead with it or not thats bugging me.

There is a big differance between the two cars... Don't forget we can be a bit bias here.

I would never buy a new car..that's just me though. I have had plenty of new cars, but all of them via work..they do nothing for me and we are talking £65,000 types of cars.

Horses for courses..only you can decide. One thing I have never done is let my head rule my heart... life's to short..

I'm not buying a new car

Just read your post again...why do you think it would be alot in maintanence??

Didn't say a lot of maintenance, I mean all sorts of things, keeping it serviced etc, general running costs. That would be an advantage if I only had a Panda because it would mean I wouldn't have to run another car. If I went with the two car situation then I'd have less money for the Panda because I'd have to run/tax/insure two cars.
I'm leaning toward getting a Bravo/Brava, can get reasonable insurance on them, not sure what they're like for reliability, they're getting quite old now, can pick one up for about £800 leaving plenty money left for Panda and insurance...

Still confused. I told my Mum (still living at home) my plans.
"What on earth do you need two Fiats for?!"
