Doubt it will be cheap. When the gearbox in my TDi Escort fell appart i was quoted £700 from a dealer, that was before fitting! B) Lucky for me i was able to get a second hand one. Doubt there will be that many second hand Stilo boxes in 3 years!

Live life a little, get a Fiat, pick a Stilo, watch it fail, book it into a arsehole dealership, having no repairs carried out, get an ulcer, suffer depression, get a baseball bat, get f**kin even!!!

I got a mate (Ford Mechanic) to fit a second hand one for £300 all in! Would have been silly money if it was done at a garage!

MTL Redline gearbox oil is fantastic at smoothing out notchy boxes. Works from cold and gets better as it heats up - available from Demon Tweeks.

It worked a treat in my Barchetta. For what it's worth my Stilo's box is smooth as a baby's wotsit, it's just my sh*tty technique that makes it crap sometimes.

1.6 3dr Dynamic in beautiful Azzuro Sprint. Standard apart from mats and lip spoiler. Yes I know I need to lower it!

I've noticed too that if your lazy when the oil is cold and don't dip the clutch right to the floor it is possible to baulk whilst changing gear!
