Hello
Friend has some problems with his gearbox on 1.9 130 grande sport.
can he swap gearbox from grande 1.9 120hp. They are both 6speed.
or do you have any info if Gearbox from croma 1.9 8v 120hp and opels/vauxhalls will fit?

120 bhp grande actually has taller gearing, than the sporting if things like that are important to him. Personally thats not a bad thing..

Looks like oddly the only difference is in 2nd gear. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a typo on Fiat's part though, I can't see them changing the ratios just for 2nd on the 130.

Car catalogue. A website shows there is a 2mph per 1000 rpm difference. Am on holiday at the moment otherwise would do a link althoug have posted the link before. No doubt it could be a typo on that site but it would be unusual. I almost bought a 120 eleganza grande because of the supposedly taller gearing

it appear the final drive ratio differs.. 3.65 against 3.35 giving the 130bhp a top gear of 32mph per 1000rpm against the 120.bhp 35mph per 1000 rpm.

Makes sense to give the sporting model lower gearing for better acceleration. That (and the 10bhp) explain how the sporting cracks the magic 10s to 60 barrier and the eleganza doesn't.
