Technical gearbox

Hi all im back again i changed my oilseals the ones on the gearbox at the drive shaftends but they are leaking again there seems to be play if you shake the shaft up and down it moves alot and oil runs out. what would be the cause and how do i solve it.

The shaft moving up and down is likely to be worn splines or the differntial support bearings worn.

cheers is thst a big job would i manage to change them or do i need any special tools

You would need to remove and dismantle the gearbox.

You would need measuring tools to preload the bearings and possibly others to reassemble the gearbox.

thats sound wont be trying that unless there is a step by step guide any ideas on how much for parts and labour
